Sklar Technology has been and continues to make efforts to help the local Richmond community year after year. Our President and CEO Randy Sklar is an avid marathon runner and health enthusiast. Randy runs 5, 8, and 10K’s throughout the year and commits to doing the Richmond and Shamrock marathons every year. Not only does Randy run the races he raises money for local charities while he’s at it.

Sklar Technology Partners also offers a free gym membership to those dedicated to health and fitness.

Recently Sklar Technology partners started “Team Sklar” whose sole purpose is to raise money for charity. Randy Sklar encourages you to join his team of dedicated runners and help them raise money for charity.

 

Their mission and motivation is to KICK CANCER’S BUTT!

 

Sklar will pay for your registration in return for running and raising money and Randy even matches the total funds raised out of his own pocket each time.

Here is a brief overview of our recent community outreach programs:

In March 2011: Randy Sklar, President of Sklar technology Partners and several others, ran the Shamrock Marathon at Virginia Beach again. The objective was to raise money for the ASK (Association for the Support of Kids with Cancer) foundation, which is a local Richmond, nonprofit organization that provides emotional, financial and social under-girding for children after they receive their cancer diagnosis.

On March 20^th 2010: Randy Sklar, President of Sklar technology Partners and several others, ran the Shamrock Marathon at Virginia Beach. The objective was to raise money for the ASK (Association for the Support of Kids with Cancer) foundation, which is a local Richmond, nonprofit organization that provides emotional, financial and social undergirding for children after they receive their cancer diagnosis. We surpassed our goal of $10,000 and actually donated a check for $10,550 to the ASK foundation. (we raised that in just 2 months!)

On April 31^st 2010: Sklar received a thank you letter from the Mechanicsville Rotary club for our donations to Hanover Safe Place (promoting freedom from domestic violence and sexual assault). Our efforts contributed to the $38,000 that was raised for this organization.

On May 23^rd 2010: Sklar provided a moon bounce, spin art, and popcorn machine for a party held for the ASK families. President, Randy Sklar and his employees went to Stonehenge country club on a Sunday and helped the ASK foundation with this celebration.

In November 2010: Randy Sklar organized another team run for the Richmond McDonald’s half Marathon.

ON SEPTEMBER 28, 2009: Sklar Technology Partners conducted a food drive to benefit the Central Virginia Food Bank here in Richmond. Through the involvement of employees, clients and families, Sklar graciously donated 5,050 cans and other non-perishable food items to help stock the empty shelves of the Central Virginia Food Bank. This size-able donation is equivalent to providing 10,448 meals to those in need.

On November 14^th 2009: Randy Sklar organized a team run for the Richmond McDonald’s half Marathon. The run was on behalf of Marcy Mann who was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer eight months prior. Sklar was able to raise over $2,500 and donated 100% of the proceeds to Marcy to help alleviate the burden of medical bills and other costs.

 

Sklar technology partners plans to select a new charity next quarter so we can continue our charity efforts which we commit to all-year round.
